Ijaw Leaders Call For Talks With JTF To End Siege

WARRI—IJAW leaders of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State, have called for  dialogue with the Joint Task Force, JTF, in the Niger Delta to brainstorm on the recent pipeline bombing in the state and halt the military siege that has crippled social life, education and economic activities in the area.

The leaders are apprehensive that with the manner security agents are allegedly hounding villagers without identifying and targeting the perpetrators, the military could be setting the stage for the annihilation of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

Tompolo Challenges Warrant Of Arrest

Former militant leader, Chief Government Ekpemupolo (alias Tompolo), has challenged the warrant of arrest issued by a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos,  to compel his appearance in court to answer to the criminal charge preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

He is praying the court to discharge the bench warrant issued against him.

EFCC, in the charge, had accused Tompolo and others of diverting the sum of N34 billion belonging to the Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency, NIMASA.
